for growers - 11/07/07
The Fallbrook Public Utility District will hold a
public meeting to help the more than 600 growers in the Interruptible
Agricultural Water Program understand, step-by-step, how the district will
implement the 30% mandatory water cutback, beginning Jan. 1, 2008. The meeting
will be held Thursday, Nov. 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts
Center at Fallbrook High School, 2400 S. Stagecoach Lane.

Board meetings
combined to accommodate holiday season - 11/06/07
The November board meeting for the Fallbrook Public
Utility District will be combined with the December meeting, to accommodate the

Fluoridation is
coming soon to a faucet near you - 10/17/07
Beginning December 3, the Fallbrook Public Utility
District’s water wholesaler, the Metropolitan Water District, will begin adding
what dentists and scores of health professionals are calling “an optimal level”
of fluoride to the drinking water.

is asking customers to conserve water, especially outdoors, as FPUD and several

There aren’t many water districts in the state of California that offer
customers an online payment option for their water bill, but the Fallbrook
Public Utility District now offers this service.

The bad news is that water and sewer rates did increase some. The good news is
that even though the Fallbrook Public Utility District board approved small
rate increases, the cost to typical FPUD customers for water and sewer service

One way to learn first-hand the safety of recycled water is to watch a live
fish swimming and living in it. That’s one of the things 1,760 elementary

solar panels save big, win big -03/27/06
Saving a buck is always a good thing. Saving around $6,000 per month is even
better. On March 27, the Fallbrook Public Utility District will receive an
award from the San Diego Regional Energy Office for its cost-saving,
energy-efficient solar panels at the board of directors meeting.

Free
workshops for restaurants -03/16/06
Restaurants, schools, hospitals and other food-serving organizations can attend
a free workshop Tues., March 21 for assistance and information on becoming a
Green Business, and learning stormwater requirements, solid waste management,

Shutdown Update -02/13/06
The weather may not have cooperated with the planned aqueduct shutdown, but
customers of the Fallbrook Public Utility District sure did once they realized
the situation was critical. Last week, the shutdown of the Metropolitan Water
District and San Diego County Water Authority pipelines that provide imported
water to FPUD should have gone largely unnoticed.

Tony Pacheco can tell you. Though he hasn’t yet worked three years for
Fallbrook Public Utility District, the utility worker has indeed stood out. In
fact, he was selected from a pool of about 80 employees for the honor.
