Effective immediately, FPUD customers can log onto www.fpud.com, click on “pay your bill online,” and follow the steps to authorize payment to be safely debited from their checking account. Payments are secure, as extra safety measures have been taken to ensure privacy. First-time users must have both their FPUD account number and their water meter number before they can establish a secret password to pay online.
Additionally, customers who currently take advantage of FPUD’s early-pay, $4-per-month discount can still get the discount when they pay online, as long as they pay by the due date shown on their bill.
For those who don’t want to have to remember to pay their bill, FPUD is also offering an “autopay” feature that allows the monthly or bi-monthly bill payment to be automatically deducted from their checking or savings account. Signing up for autopay can now be done online, as well as in person or by mail. Currently more than 1,300 FPUD customers use this service.
For customers who use this automatic, recurring service, FPUD will increase the early-pay discount mentioned earlier from $4 per month to $5 per month, or for bi-monthly accounts – from $8 per bill to $10 per bill. Autopay customers will still receive a bill notice, notifying them of the amount and the date that payment will be deducted from their bank account. That bill notice will come in the mail two to three weeks prior. The bill can also be e-mailed or viewed and printed from the Web site.
For more information on any of these new services, customers can call 728-1127.
